About Abby

  Hello! I'm so glad you're here at Sabores Unidos de América! I'm Abby, an American currently living in Spain. I decided to trade the cold and rainy Pacific Northwest of the United States for the (almost always) sunny Sierra de Madrid. Not only do I enjoy the beautiful weather here in Spain, but I also fell in love with my Spanish partner, Rodrigo, in 2019 while studying abroad in Segovia. In my free time, I love cooking my favorite American recipes at home, traveling around Spain and Europe, and spending time with my partner and our two kitties.

I decided to create the blog Sabores Unidos de América after having prepared countless recipes for my Spanish friends, coworkers, and my partner, along with his family. Since I was 9 years old, I discovered my passion for cooking and the joy that came from sharing my food with others. Over the years, I have honed my culinary skills and found deep satisfaction in preparing delicious dishes that make people feel happy and satisfied.

I firmly believe that one of the best ways to share a culture is through food. My goal is to share delicious American food with everyone and make sure the recipes are accessible and easy to understand for Spanish speakers.
